Wilda Rose Brokaw, 101, of Adena, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday July 13, 2021, at home.
She was born in Troll Town, Ohio on February 14, 1920, a daughter of the late Oscar and Nora Graham Coates. She was raised on the family farm in Wheeling Valley, then graduated St. Clairsville High School in 1937. Married George Brokaw on 11/17/1938 in Winchester, Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband George Brokaw on 7/6/1985; four sisters: Mary Carter, June Holt, Isabelle Singer, Carrie Josefczyk; granddaughter Gina Veronesi; great-granddaughter Joey Rose.
Wilda is survived by three daughters: Georgia (Bill) Veronesi, Judy (William) Beuth, Janice (Don) Bernosky; a son George (Chris) Brokaw Jr. eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Wilda was a lifetime member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Harrisville, Ohio serving as an elder, Sunday School teacher and belonged to Womans Missionary Society. She was a homemaker, taking care of her family and extended family. She was a resident of Adena for 82 years, moving here in 1939.
Friends will be received Friday July 16, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church of Harrisville, with Rev. Barry Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church or Charity of Donor’s choice.
