Sherryl "Sherry" Valdene (Benjamin) Stillwagon, 77, of Scio, Ohio left this earth on May 18,2023 after a yearlong battle with esophageal cancer at Trinity Hospital in Steubenville, Ohio.
Sherry entered this world on August 31,1945. She was born at Puyallup, Washington, to the late Rufus Dale Benjamin and the late Violet Edith (Arnold) Benjamin. She is also proceeded in death by her 2 brothers, Arnold Benjamin and Robert Benjamin and infant sister Roberta.
Sherry was a proud graduate of the Sumner High School class of 1963.She attended the Sumner School district from K-12th grade. Sherry was an alto singer in her High School choir and was part of Sumner High Schools first award winning female quartet. After graduation she studied music at Western Washington University.
Sherry's love for music continued through her life. She proudly recorded a cover album in the early 2000's. When she wasn't singing Karaoke, she could be found singing in her kitchen where she proudly developed many amazing meals. She will be remembered for being a fabulous cook. Sherry gave her heart to everything she did. She was an amazing seamstress and an incredible quilter. She was very proud to have been able to make lap quilts for the veterans in and around Scio.
Sherry's greatest love in life was her family. Family was more than blood to her. She opened her arms to everyone and welcomed them. In 2006 she married her soul mate Roy Stillwagon. They spent 16 amazing years together between Washington state and Ohio before his untimely death in Aprill of 2022. Now they will spend eternity together.
Left behind to keep her memory alive are her son Kenneth Maddux Jr, her daughter Joelle Collins(Jim), stepdaughter Pamela Stillwagon, stepson Kenneth Stillwagon, 5 Granddaughters, Monnica (Tyler), Tiffany (Shane), Courtney (Sean), Amanda, Shauna , 1 grandson Hayden, 4 great-grandsons Kayleb, Corbin, Shane, and James, 3 great-granddaughters Victoria, Bailey, and her namesake, Kenleigh Valdene plus one more great-granddaughter on the way. She also leaves behind many brothers and sister in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, and family friends.
Her immediate family looks to extend an extreme THANK YOU to John and Janie Stillwagon. Thank you for all that you did for our mom, Grandma Sherry, and Gigi over this last difficult year.
Graveside Services will be held August 31, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, OH with Rev. James Hoff officiating.
There she will be laid to rest with the love of her life Roy. A memorial service will also be planned in Washington state later this year.
Although she may be gone.... she will forever live in our memories.
