WEBB, Samuel George, 65 of New Athens, Ohio entered into eternal life with his family by his side on Friday May 18, 2007 after a very courageous battle with cancer.
Sam was born on May 24, 1941 in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He was the son of George F. Webb and Irene Linton.
He graduated from Franklin High School in 1959 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 – 1965 in communications as a radioman 1st Class. Sam was the general manager for Cadiz Parts Warehouse for 35 years and an ambulette driver for Emergency Medical Transport for the past 4 years. He was a licensed private pilot and enjoyed auto racing, hunting with his dear friend Bill Rutter, feeding and watching his birds and following all the activities of his grandsons.
He married the love of his life, Sandra K. Bintz on Nov. 4, 1967. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by his son, JR Webb of New Athens, and his daughter Jaime (Rick) Ross of Bellaire, Ohio; two precious grandsons: Brendon and Cameron Ross, who were the joy of his life; his sister, Marilyn (John) Harris of Flushing and a brother Wallace (Cindy) Linton of Wheeling, WV.
Sam was preceded in death by his father on August 7, 1996.
Friends were received from 2-4 and 6-8 on Monday at the Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio where services were held Tuesday May 22, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastors Al Hoder and Rodney Bowers officiating. Interment followed at Longview Cemetery, New Athens.
