Robert “Bob” Mark Yovanovich, 81, of Charleston Street, Cadiz, Ohio, died Wednesday August 17, 2011 at home.
He was born in Canton, Ohio on March 8, 1930, a son of the late Mark Yovanovich and Chester and Nancy Kelley.
Robert was a member of UMWA District #6 since 1948; the Cadiz American Legion Post #34 since 1958; the Cadiz Eagles Aerie #2162 since 1949; lifelong active member of St. Teresa Catholic Church of Cadiz; Staff Sgt in the U.S.A.F. Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Shirley Major Yovanovich on April 19, 2010; and a brother William Kelley.
Robert is survived by two daughters: Annette (Mark) Staley of Wheeling, W.Va. and Carol (James) Logue of Pittsburgh, Pa., three grandchildren: Matthew and Christopher Staley; and Daniel Logue.
Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio where vigil service will be held at 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday August 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Cadiz, with Reverend Tim McGuire, officiating. Interment will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery, where Graveside Military Honors will be provided by Cadiz American Legion Post # 34.
