Richard Blaine Woods

Richard Blaine Woods, age 78 of Adena, passed away on March 3, 2025, at the Gables Care Center. He was born March 18, 1946.

He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Nellie Gasda Woods, his son Richard Warren Woods, and his sisters Betty Leoni and Lois Ehigh.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Bednar Woods, his son Michael (Crissy) Woods, his brothers: John (Ruth) Woods, Melvin (Debbie) Woods, and James (Diana) Woods, his sisters: Patricia (Wayne) Hanson, Christine (Michael) Higgins, and Yvonne Becker, along with many nieces and nephews.

Rich graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1964 and loved talking about his days playing football and baseball. He started working at Y&O Coal Mine after graduation, and boy, the stories he used to tell.

Rich was a longtime active member of the United Mine Workers and Pine Valley Sportsman’s Club. He loved the outdoors and cutting wood with his brother Jim.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM at the Borkoski Funeral Home, 60 S. Bridge St., Adena, OH 43901.
