Richard Allen Scovronski, age 73 of Adena, passed away August 14, 2025. He was born April 27, 1952, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to parents Josephine (Ignac) and Joseph F. Scovronski Sr.
He was affectionately known as “Frog” to his family and friends, and graduated from Buckeye West High School in 1973. Frog was a fixture in the Adena community. He would often walk around town to the different establishments, always chatting with somebody. He also enjoyed sitting on his front porch, again talking to people as they went by.
Froggy taught himself how to play the drums and loved to go to Polka Dances. He was a member of the Adena Volunteer Fire Department and the Sons of the American Legion Post #525. Frog also loved going to Pine Valley Sportsman's Club.
He is survived by his siblings: Joe (Nancy) Scovronski, Joyce Peltz, and Rose (Dan) Betts, as well as generations of loving nieces and nephews including Joe (Kim Fannin) Bizic, Christine (Butch) Beihl, Tricia (Jason) Meddles, and Milinda (John Woods) Bizic, and many dear friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Patricia Bizic, and his brothers-in-law Milan Bizic and Jack Peltz.
His wishes for cremation are being honored and a celebration of life will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Frog’s memory to your favorite charity. Condolences and fond memories may be shared at www.borkoskifuneral.com
