SHIELDS, Mary Ellen Wodarcyk, 78, of Harrisville, Ohio, died Sunday February 17, 2008 at Sunset Health Care, Harrisville.
She was born in Maynard Ohio on November 16, 1929, a daughter of the late Pete and Sophia Sikora Wodarcyk.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Shields Sr. in 2000; and a sister Rose Gansler.
Mary was the co-owner of Marlins Miniature Horse Farm and truly enjoyed showing and raising these special horses; a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, Adena and an excellent cook.
Mary is survived by two sons: Charles L. Shields Jr. and his wife Dolly: and Rodney Shields all of Cadiz, Ohio; two daughters: Kathleen Botz and her husband Gregory of Glendale, AZ., and Judy Moorehead and her husband Dr. Richard, of Moundsville, W.Va.; three brothers: Pete Wodarcyk of Adena, Joe Wodarcyk of Maynard and John Wodarcyk of Crescent, Ohio; two sisters: Ann Worwa of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio and Frances Gilli of St. Clairsville; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends were received Tuesday 2 to 8 p.m. at the Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio, where vigil services were held at 7:30p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday February 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Adena, with Msgr. John C. Kolesar as celebrant. Interment followed at Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville.
