Johnny Newell, 87, of Cadiz-Jewett Road, passed Wednesday May 28, 2014 at Trinity West Hospital.
He was born in Jewett, Ohio on February 18, 1927, a son of the late John L. and Sadie (Baker) Newell.
He was a retired employee of Y&O Coal Company and UMW member for 35 years; a Korean War Veteran and a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Jewett.
In addition to his parents, he is now together with his loving wife Farestine Newell; and sisters: Irene Gibus, Florence Butler and Dorothy (Orange) Butler.
Johnny is survived by a son Samuel (Karen) Newell of Cadiz; a daughter Joyce (Wayne) Dowdel of Jewett; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday 4 to 8 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio where services will be held Saturday May 31, 2014 at 11:00am with Rev.
