John E. Valesko, 80, of N. Muskingum Street, Cadiz, formerly of New Athens, died Tuesday May 24, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Thompson, PA., on September 5, 1930, a son of the late Andrew and Anna Sztrajnyak Valesko.
John was a retired equipment operator for Ohio River Colliers for 20 years; a New Athens Vol. Fire Dept. member for 25 years, and loved going to Wendy's everyday to visit with friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters: Catherine Skunda, Pauline Brown, Helen Simmons, Ann Matz and Marjorie Ozenich; and three brothers: George, Joseph and Andy Valesko.
John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jane Kugler Valesko; two daughters: Christine "Bob" (Larry) Thompson of Adena, and Dianna Kutcher (Keith) of Cadiz; grandchildren: John Kutcher (Vikki), and Jane Kutcher-Bardall, all of Cadiz; and a great-granddaughter, Gracie Kutcher-Bardall. John loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio, where services will be held Friday May 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Pete Tuchek, officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio.
