Janice Gay (Brokaw) Bernosky

Janice Gay Bernosky, age 78 of Adena, passed away June 8, 2026.

She was born May 25, 1948, in Bellaire, Ohio, to parents George William and Wilda Rose (Coates) Brokaw. Janice graduated from Adena High School in 1966. She married her beloved husband Donald Bernosky on August 31, 1970. Sadly, he passed away on May 29, 2026.

Janice worked for many years as a teller with Peoples National Bank in Adena. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Janice truly loved shopping and always looked forward to Christmas. She actually looked forward to most holidays and made the Halloween costumes for her daughters when they were kids. She also loved to read, cross stitch, and draw.

Janice is survived by her daughters Dana Banal and Erin (David Jr.) Rinkes, her grandchildren: Eric Banal, Katherine “Katie” Banal, Evan Krupinski, and Jacob Rinkes, as well as her sisters: Georgia (Bill) Veronesi and Judy Beuth.

In addition to her husband Don Bernosky, Janice was preceded in death by her parents and her brother George William Brokaw Jr.

Friends and family will be received Friday, June 12, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Harrisville, with funeral services officiated by Pastor Barry Hall at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
