George Young Jr.

George Young Jr., 92, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, of Adena, OH, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, in Martins Ferry, OH.

George was born on September 1, 1925, in Adena, OH to the late Daryll and Dorothy (Hutton) Young.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Helen Young and two sisters, Elanor and Betty.

George was Methodist by faith; he was a US Navy WWII Veteran, a member of the Adena American Legion Post 525, for 78 years, a member of Freeport Masonic Lodge 415, Scottish Rites of Steubenville, OH, a member of the US Trotting Association, Ohio Horseman Association, served as a Councilman for the Village of Adena and retired from R&F Coal. Georges life was all about family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Young; a son, Robert (Stephanie) Young; a brother, Jim (Sue) Young, three sisters, Margaret Barrett, Myrna Cramblet and Patty Harrison; a brother in law, Carmine Chiarelli; a sister in law, Rose Sefsick; a grandson, Darrin (Ericka) Young; a granddaughter, Melissa (Gary) Knight; two great-granddaughters, Madison and Jenna Young and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received to pay tribute to George and celebrate his life on Sunday, November 5th, from 2-9 at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Adena, OH, with Masonic services being held at 6:30 pm.

Friends will also be received on Monday from 11 am until the time of services of 12 noon with full Military services.

Entombment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, OH.
