Frederick “Fred” M. Koehler, 97, of Harrisville, Ohio, passed Tuesday August 28, 2018 at East Ohio Regional Hospital.
Fred was born in Pleasant Grove, Ohio on July 16, 1921, a son of the late Fred C. and Birdie M. Miller Koehler.
He operated the Stihl Power Tools on Adena – Harrisville Road, a retired employee of Consol, an active member of the Harrisville United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army WWII Veteran serving in 5th Division of General Patton’s 3rd Army the “Battle of the Bulge”.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Martha Telfer Koehler on August 15, 2010, a sister and brothers George and Robert Koehler.
Fred is survived by his sons: Mark Koehler and his wife Debbie of Beallsville, Ohio and Steven Koehler and his wife Laurie of Adena; six grandchildren: Logan (Danielle), Martha (Zackery Burkhart), Meredith (Richard Mauck), Mallory, Mackenzie, Miranda Koehler and a great grandson Quirt Wayne Koehler.
Friends will be received Friday 2 to 7 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio and also on Saturday September 1, 2018 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Harrisville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Drew McPeek officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Military Honors will be provided by the Belmont County Veterans Association at the Cemetery.
