Freda May (Briggs) Friend

Freda May Friend, 95, of Adena, Ohio, passed peacefully at home on Saturday June 6, 2020. 

  She was born April 21, 1925, a daughter of the late Harry James Briggs and Freda Ella Defibaugh Briggs.

  Freda was a devoted member of the Harrisville Fire Department Ladies Aux, and the Harrisville United Methodist Church and the Women of Faith.

  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings: William Briggs, Kenneth Briggs, Eloise Cundiff.

  Freda is survived by her husband George Friend, daughters: Sharon "Shari" Friend of Harrisville, Judy (David) Beaver of Triadelphia, WV, James Friend of Adena; sister Mary Lou Smith, of Harrisville, several nieces and nephews.

  Friends will be received Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 60 South Bridge Street, Adena, Ohio 43901 with limited Covid-19 restrictions.  Visitation will continue Wednesday June 10, 2020  from 10 until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Harrisville United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Staley, officiating.

  Memorial contributions may be made to Harrisville Ladies Auxiliary or the Women of Faith of Harrisville U.M.C.  Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.  Offer online condolences to the family at www.borkoskifuneral.com
