Fred Terry Marshall

Fred Terry Marshall, 81, of Adena, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus with family at his bedside.  He was born April 3, 1942, in New Athens, a son of the late Fred John and Bessie (Adams) Marshall, and raised in Adena where he lived for most of his life. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his sister, Ginny Vivano, and brother, Ricky Lynn Marshall. 
Terry was the owner-operator of Terry’s Bar in Adena for over 50 years; a U.S. Navy Veteran, and member of the American Legion, Post #525; a member of both the Adena Hunting and Fishing Club and Pine Valley Sportsmen Club; and a former Adena Council member. 
Terry joined the Navy in 1961 and served aboard the USS Yosemite.  He spent a short time working at Ford Motor Co. in Lorain before purchasing the bar and returning to Adena. He was known for supporting the community and helping others when in need, whether it was a loan, a job, or a roof overhead.  He enjoyed talking with anyone, but especially family, friends, patrons, and his employees. Many of his patrons and employees became lifelong, cherished friends.
Terry is survived by his companion of 33 years, Carol Iagnemma; a son, Fred Terry Marshall Jr. of Adena; a daughter, Cheryl (Chris) Kintner of Leesburg, Virginia; a sister, Adonna (Carl) Besece of Columbus; former wife and mother of children, Linda Luke of Adena; several nieces and nephews; and his extended family through Carol: daughters Lori (Jim) Figurski and Amy (John) Tonkovich; grandchildren Chad (Shonna) Figurski, Courtney Figurski, Taylor (Cameron) McKim, Taryn (Chuck) Myers and Tyler Tonkovich; great-grandchildren Luca, Camden, Cade, Kenlee, Colson and Oaklynn.   
Friends and family will be received Monday, June 5, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at noon at Borkoski Funeral Home, 60 South Bridge Street, Adena, OH., with Rev. Barry Hall, officiating.  Graveside Military Honors provided by the Adena American Legion Post # 525 will be held at the cemetery. Inurment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain.
