NEWELL, Farestine, 81, of Jewett, Ohio, died Wednesday September 22, 2010 at Sunny Slope Nursing Home, Bowerston.
She was born June 9, 1929, at St. Clairsville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Dell and Sally Clark Owens. Farestine was a former employee of Scio Pottery and Golden Buckeye Card of Harrison County, and a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Scio, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Renius, Delbert, Melvin and Dorman Owens; and four sisters: Katherine Riley, Nadine Owens, Peggy Darlene Owens, Jurlee Ritchie and a great-grandson, Cody Miller.
Farestine is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Johnny; a son Samuel Newell and his wife Karen of Cadiz; a daughter Joyce Dowdle and her husband Wayne of Jewett; a brother, Roy Owens and his wife Frances of Elyria, Ohio; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday 4-8 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio where services will be held Saturday September 25, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Denny officiating.
