Evelyn Ann Cichon, age 88, a lifelong resident of Adena, passed away March 10, 2025, at Trinity West Hospital in Steubenville. She was born August 24, 1936, to parents Andrew and Victorine (Toto) Starosciak.
Faith, Family, and Food were always paramount in Evelyn’s life. She was a devoted member of St. Casimir Parish where she belonged to the Catholic Women’s Club and the Rosary Society.
Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, and proud “Nanny” to all of her grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Diane (Wayne) McCracken, David Cichon, DeLane (Ronald) Molnar, her 7 grandchildren, and her 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry Cichon, and her siblings.
Evelyn was the grocery store manager for the Adena New Cooperative Store for over 40 years. She loved to eat, especially Sanders’ donuts. She enjoyed going to restaurants and trips to Amish Country with her husband. In her later years, Evelyn enjoyed staying home. Throughout her life she maintained a positive outlook and truly had a happy life.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend William Cross on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Adena. Entombment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. After the cemetery, there will be a Celebration of Life brunch at the Farm Restaurant.
