Dorothy Bednar Arcuri

Dorothy Merriman Bednar Arcuri ,  “Sis”, 88, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2017.

She was born on August 2, 1928 in Adena, Ohio and for the past 34 years resided in Cleveland, Ohio. She worked for many years at the Miners Supply in Adena and was a member of the Adena Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Carrie Merriman, her first husband Mike “Mickey “Bednar and grandson Ricky Woods. 

Dorothy is survived by her husband Anthony Arcuri of Cleveland, Fred Merriman (Virginia) of Wisconsin and her children Cindy Clark (Ron), Patty Woods (Rick), Judge Mike Bednar (Tammy) and Dan Bednar (Carol) and her stepchildren John Arcuri (Rawadee) , Rose Hutchinson, Frank Arcuri (Wendy), Vicki Kissig (Tom) and Barbara Mirdala. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, thirteen step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. 

Calling hours will be Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 111 S. Bridge St, Adena, Ohio.  Funeral Service will be at the funeral home at 11 am on Saturday with the burial at Holly Memorial Cemetery in Harrisville, Ohio.  A luncheon to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held after the funeral at the Adena American Legion.
