David Wayne Appleby

David Wayne Appleby, 60, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Sunday June 21, 2020 at his home.

  He was born in Wheeling on July 2, 1959, son of the late Joanne Carr and stepfather Ernest “Ning” Allen.

  David is survived by his two sons: David (Angelena) Appleby, Jason (Robin) Appleby all of Dillonvale; a daughter Lesia (George) Geer of Rayland; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandson; three brothers: Mike Carr of McMechen, Jeff Appleby of West Liberty, Ernest (Skeeter) Allen of Warwood; three sisters: Kelly Carr of Moundsville, Robin (Toby) Mitcham of Wheeling and Leslie (Rick) Davis of Wheeling.

  David loved working on cars.  In his younger days he loved hanging out with his friends, especially his best friend Homer B. driving around, drinking his beer and chasing women. He loved his children also.  His final words were “don’t shed a tear, drink a beer.”
