Black, Charles Edward, 86, of 303 Devore Street, R.D. #5, Cadiz, Ohio, died Friday, July 16, 2010, in Wheeling Medical Park Hospital.
He was born September 4, 1923, in Byesville, Ohio, a son of the late Walter and Lillian Graham Black and lived in Hopedale.
Chuck served in the United States Army and was a 1941graduate of Cadiz High School. He was employed by Y&O Coal Company for 32 years and was a farmer. He was a member of the American Legion Post 525 in Adena, Cadiz Fraternal Order of Eagles, United Mine Workers of America and a past member of the Adena Lions Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gertrude Cooper and a son, Stanley Walter Black, three brothers, William, Ellis and Robert, and two sisters, Mary Sinfield and Patricia Black.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, JoAnn Dulkoski Black, daughter Cherry (Jim Schuster), grandson Jimmy Schuster and granddaughter Jodi Black, brother John (Joan) of Columbus, mother-in-law Gertrude Bernard, stepson Ed Dulkoski (Glenda) step granddaughters Kasey and Abbey, several nieces and nephews, a special niece; Connie Edwards of Troy, Texas, and a loving, faithful, canine companion, Sarah.

Family and friends will be received at the Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio, on Sunday, July 18, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral, with full military honors provided by Post #525 of the Adena American Legion, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010.
