Bernice Elizabeth Soboleski, 96, of Cadiz, Ohio and formerly of Adena, Ohio, passed Sunday November 23, 2014 at Gables Care Center, Hopedale, Ohio.
She was born in Ramsey, Ohio on July 27, 1918, a daughter of the late Anthony and Frances Damek Winski.
Bernice was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, Adena, member of the Rosary Society, CWC, and the festival food committee; and later a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, Cadiz.
Anyone who knew Bernice, knew she was an excellent teacher and a fantastic baker, always giving of herself for others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph Soboleski; brothers: Walter, Tony, Joe, and Johnny Winski; and a sister Ann Evanovich.
Bernice is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver Jeanne (Tom) Phillips of Chillicothe, Ohio, granddaughter Marnie (John) Ruark of Columbus, Ohio; great-grandsons: Joseph of Turlock, CA., John III of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday November 28, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday November 29, 2014 at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Hanna Avenue, Adena, with visitation at church from 9:30 until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. with Msgr. John C. Kolesar as celebrant. Interment will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, Ohio.
