Bernadette was born a coal miner's daughter in southeast Ohio, the third oldest of twelve children. Growing up as a Roman Catholic, this foundation would play a very strong part in her life. Bernadette was a true child of God, her faith brought her through many trials in her life as well as brought many joys. She was a kind and gentle soul who was no stranger and was always willing to help anyone. She was truly innocent at heart. She was a unanimous favorite by friends and family members alike. Her greatest of joys was being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She always wanted to spread love to the world, and she did just that. Even to all the animals that she knew. Bernadette passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Good Friday the 15th of April 2022, in an hour of the Lords passing. At the time of her passing she was 77 years old preceded in death by her parents Dominic Sr. and Frances Popish Capers, her granddaughter Victoria Frances Milo, brother-in-law Michael Conner and niece Elaine Capers, and in laws Denver and Navajo Damron. She is survived by her husband, Earl Damron, sister-in-law Kathy Damron, her children Veronica Lyn (John) Milo, Ronald "Joseph" (Michelle) Wedlake, John Allen (Tonya) Wedlake and stepchildren Dustin Damron and Chelsey (Ken) Tollvier. Her grandchildren Jessica Lyn Milo, Vincent Jonathan Milo, Jaclyn Isabella Milo, Carson Thomas (Kristin) Wedlake, Kaitlyn Quigley, Taylor Renee Wedlake, great granddaughter Vera L Wedlake, step grandchildren Shellby Damron, Evan Tollvier, and Kennedy Tollvier. Along with her 11 brothers and sisters, Jerome (Lucinda) Capers, Geraldine Conner, Donna (Andy) Kozsuch, Dominic Jr. (Margaret) Capers, Cheryl (Gail) Rector, Marcy (John) Zamski, Greg (Christine) Capers, Mary (Randy) Borkoski, Christopher (Teresa) Capers, Beth Ann (Charlie) Myers, Debbie (Gino) Ricchetti, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday April 29, 2022, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio 43907. Visitation also Saturday 9 to 10:30 at the funeral home prior going to Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated Saturday April 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Hanna Avenue, Adena, Ohio, with Monsignor John Kolesar officiating. Interment will be private.
