Bennett Brown Obituary

Bennett Douglas Brown, lovingly known as Ben, passed away April 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on May 26, 1979, to Douglas and Eloise Brown, and grew up in Litchfield alongside his three sisters, Rebecca (Rado), Sally (Steve), and Emy (Toth). Ben worked as a carpenter with Shelly and Sands and was a proud member of the Carpenters Local 435.

Ben later made his home in Adena with the love of his life, Rani Jeskey. Together, they created a life filled with warmth, laughter, and simple joys. Whether feeding deer and neighborhood cats or relaxing with a beer alongside his best friend, Jack, Ben found happiness in life’s quiet moments.

He is survived by his son, Douglas (Brie); his stepdaughter, Britney (Ross); his grandson, Harrison; and his granddaughter, Lynden—all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Ben was preceded in death by his parents.

Ben especially cherished playing tackle with Harrison, dancing with Lynden, and spending time with his nieces and nephew—Becca, Jesse, Will, Gweni, and Benni. He took great pride in cheering on the Browns with Dougie. Ben’s son, Douglas, was his best friend, and the two shared an unbreakable bond, spending countless hours together, cheering on their team, and simply enjoying each other’s company.

He will be remembered as a hard-working, hard-nosed man with a no-nonsense way about him, strong and stern in his way, but with the biggest heart. He was a devoted father and grandfather, a loving brother, and a man who deeply valued the people closest to him, especially the deep and devoted love he shared with his soulmate, Rani.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Borkoski Funeral Home in Adena, with a funeral service officiated by Dirk Harkins at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery in Harrisville. Ben would want everyone to feel comfortable. While traditional funeral attire is welcome, you are also encouraged to wear apparel representing your favorite sports team in his honor.

After the burial, everyone is invited to the Adena American Legion for a luncheon and time of fellowship. Condolences and fond memories may be shared at www.borkoskifuneral.com
