Mary Lou Smith, 93, of Harrisville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday January 6, 2021 at Meadows of Cadiz.

She was born February 2, 1927, a daughter of the late Harry and Freda Mae Defibaugh Briggs.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Richard Smith, an infant son Richard Smith Jr., daughter Brenda Sue Matthews; brothers: William and Ken Briggs and sisters Eloise Cundiff and Freda Friend.

Mary Lou was a member of the Harrisville United Methodist Church and very active in the Harrisville Fire Dept. Auxiliary.

Mary Lou is survived by her children: Harry "Buzz" (Lisa) Smith of Florida, William "Rick" (Sandy) Smith of Tiltonsville, George (Anita) Smith of Harrisville, Brad (Patty) Smith of Radnor, OH, Cathy (Gary) Robinson of Cadiz; grandchildren: Jeannine Robinson, Heather Smith, Chad (Amy) Smith, Kelly (Jamie) Tonkovich, Todd (Angela) Smith, Cody (Faren) Smith, Kerri Smith, Erika Smith, Butch (Tresa) Matthews; 19 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, services will be private with Rev. Barry Hall officiating.  Interment will be at Holly Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department.
