David Beatty Hawthorne, 72, of East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio, passed October 1, 2012 at home.  He was a lifelong resident, born in Cadiz April 10, 1940, a son of the late Alva Beatty Hawthorne and Wilhelmina Daughtery Hawthorne. He attended the first 8 grades at Red Hill School and then graduated from Cadiz High School in 1959; a member of the General Custer Association;  former Cadiz Waterworks employee;   He was a retired Cadiz Township employee after 33 years; a U. S. Army Veteran, and a Presbyterian by faith. His hobbies were cars, trucks, and tractors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Jane Hawthorne and Helen V. Hawthorne Bush; and two brothers in law: Rev. Neil Brown and J. Robert Jay. David is survived by two brothers: Rev. Ralph Rogers Hawthorne of Green Valley, AZ., and John Walter Hawthorne of Cadiz; two sisters: Wilhelmina Jay of Willoughby, Ohio, and Margaret Hawthorne Brown of San Diego, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
