Obituary

Charles William "Bill" Rinkes, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on December 24, 2023. Bill was born December 6, 1945, in Wheeling, WV and was a lifelong resident of Harrisville, Ohio. Bill is survived by his wife, Karen (Galik); his son, Charles "Chuck" Rinkes (Kelly); daughter, Shelley Crake (Robert); and grandchildren Jaxon (Emmie) Rinkes and Sydney Burkle; stepsons Bruce Cameron, Sean Fetty and Philip (Brittany) Fetty; grandchildren Bruce Cameron, Jr. (Nicole), Austin Fetty, Payton Fetty, Piper Fetty, Paige Fetty; and great-grandson, Braden Cameron. He is also survived by his sister, Marth Lou Packer (Bill); brothers Bruce Rinkes (Lynn) of Holton, KS and Ross Rinkes (Millie) of Decherd, TN; brother-in-law Ed Galik (Camy), and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Martha Lucille and Charles William Rinkes, and grandson, Jimmy Cameron. Bill was a lifelong member of Harrisville Covenant Presbyterian Church and an active volunteer EMT and fireman with the Harrisville Fire Department. He farmed with his dad throughout his life and retired from Consol Coal Company in 2006. He was in the U.S. Army Reserves upon graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1963. He will be remembered for his unwavering support for his family at their sporting events and other activities and was their biggest champion, playing an important role in the lives of each of his grandchildren. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 27,2023 at the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Harrisville, at 12 p.m. with Rev. Barry Hall officiating. The family will be receiving guests from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. immediately prior to the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bill's memory to the Harrisville Covenant Presbyterian Church or the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department.
