Cecil Eugene Durbin (92) of Adena passed away on July 8, 2026.

Born on July 7, 1934, he was the beloved son of Presley and Doris Durbin.  He now joins his parents in eternal rest, along with his dear wife, Lydia; his sisters, Marie and Dolly; and his brothers, Malcom, Dean, Wayne and Hugh.

His memory lives on through his sisters, Shirley Campise of Hopedale and Sue (Bill) Evans of Massillon.  He is also survived by his children, Larry (Sandy) Durbin, Sharon Durbin Adams, Richard (Dana) Durbin, and Scott (Trenda) Durbin, who carry forward his legacy of devotion.

He was a proud grandfather to Bryan (Becky) Durbin, Melissa Durbin, Rachel (Steven) Fyffe, Nicole (Scott) Scharlach, Kaci Adams (fiancé Joshua Grubbs), Ricky (Loren) Durbin, Ryan (Megan) Durbin, Chad (Kayla) Durbin, and Courtney (Travis) Pinkston.

His joy multiplied through his great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Cecilia Durbin; Daniel (Morgan) Duill; Elden, Logan, Linken, and Eden Fyffe; Sophie and Stella Scharlach; Zayne Keiser; Zoey Kimble; Ian and Liliana Durbin; and Maverick, Hudson, and Nash Durbin.  He was further blessed with a great-great-grandchild, Lucy Duill.

Cecil took immense pride in his garage work, spending countless hours repairing his own vehicles and those of his neighbors.  He was a familiar face at area car shows while his health permitted and nothing brought him more happiness than sharing time with his grandchildren, especially as he watched the youngest ones dash across the lawn and splash in the creek.  From dawn until dusk, his tireless work ethic set an example for all, and he will be forever cherished as a man of true labor and dedication.
