Debbie, Rick and Scott-

The only feeling that runs as deep as our sympathy and sadness is one of profound gratitude.

Thank you for decades of sharing your sweet, steady and strong mother with our extended family.

We all came to rely on her for the everyday professionalism she brought to family businesses, and the extraordinary kindnesses she showed to each and every one of my siblings and cousins on occasions big and small.

It's hard to imagine moving forward without her.  Fortunately for all who loved and appreciated Jean, the example she set throughout her life shows us how to do just that.

With deepest sympathy,

Tom

Dear Debbie, Rick, and Scott,

How sad to hear about the sudden loss of your much-revered mother. All my siblings felt a special connection to your lovely and loving mother--starting with the birth date she shared with our father!--and encompassing the years she was the calm center of so much that took place at Bedway Coal. I particularly recall her warmth, patience, and tact in guiding me through a summer of hunt-and--peck typing while teaching me a great deal about how a true professional handles the complexities of a family-run coal business. It was clear why Dad cherished her friendship as well as her skills.

Marquita is right; she was a true queen. Blessings on you all. Barbara

Dear Debbie, Rick, and Scott, On behalf of our family, I express our profound sadness upon the untimely death of your precious mother. Jean was our surrogate mother, confidante, and friend.  Her work ethic and professionalism are unparalleled.  She dealt with strong personalities and a changing work environment in a rational, calm way. In a world that sometimes feels unstable, Jean was always the anchor.  How can we ever thank her for her kindness and compassion in every situation? I know our ache cannot equal the sadness you feel, but please know that she was respected and loved by each one of us.  As we share memories, the overarching sentiment is that Jean made each of feel welcome every time we entered the office. She was a true queen. We hold your family in our hearts. Marquita
